British Airways (BA) initiated non stop flights between Gatwick Airport in London and
Cancun International Airport the past 3rd of November and Amstar dmc has been chosen
as the official ground handling company for the BA crew. The airline has two weekly flights,
and a third one will be added by March 2011. This connection will be of great benefit
to many European travelers as well as to the tourist sector in the South Eastern part of
Mexico, that will benefit from an expected increase in European tourism.
Amstar dmc debuted in this new partnership by welcoming the first flight that arrived from
London to Cancun, and by being host for a selected group of BA executives and important
European journalists. The delegation was received by Amstar dmc and comfortably
transported in luxurious vans to their respective accommodations. During three days,
Amstar dmc carried out an exclusive press trip to introduce the European representatives to
some of the natural treasures that the states of Quintana Roo and Yucatan have to offer.
The delegation visited the world famous Maya temples in Chichén Itzá and Tulum, the
natural Eco park Xel Ha, the multicultural neighboring town of Playa del Carmen and
enjoyed a relaxing cruise on the Nichupté Lagoon. Cancun’s famous nightlife and shopping
