Xcaret, Cancun is an ecological theme park and an absolute must during your vacation in Cancun. Here you will find fantastic snorkelling facilities, underground rivers you can swim in, Mayan ruins and many rare species of flora and fauna. All rounded off in the evening by a spectacular show. A really fun day out for all ages.
Here we have a list of some of the upcoming events in Xcaret, Cancun for the remainder of this year.
From June to October we have the Temporary Marine Turtle Exhibition. This exhibition offers our visitors the opportunity to learn about the work Xcaret does for the protection and conservation of the sea turtles which nest along the coast of Quintana Roo. Xcaret is the main sponsor of this program, in direct collaboration with Flora Fauna y Cultura de México A.C.
From October 30th to the 2nd November we will celebrate the Day of the Dead. The Day of the Dead is celebrated in Mexico and focuses on gathering together to pray for and remember friends and relatives who have died. Traditions include building private altars honoring the deceased, and using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed.
Scholars trace the origins of the modern holiday to indigenous observances dating back thousands of years, and to an Aztec festival dedicated to a goddess called Mictecacihuatl which means Lady of the Dead.
During these four days we will have displays of visual arts, an exhibition of offerings to the dead, a gastronomical fair, workshops for children, interactive tours, music, dance, rituals, and a traditional Mass.
From December 16th to January 6th is our Christmas Season where we will be celebrating typical Mexican Christmas traditions. There will be pre-Christmas parties known as “posadas” with piñatas and Christmas carol concerts.
There will also be a very Xcaret-styled Christmas pageant which should be fun for all the family.
