Global Summit over Lessons Learned from Influenza (H1N1) to take place in Cancun July 1-3rd 2009

Health representatives from forty countries, the WHO, and the Pan American Health Organization and the highest level specialists will be in attendance, from July 1st to 3rd, 2009 in Cancun.

Cancun, Mexico -June 24th, 2009 — Cancun has been designated as the host destination for the Global Summit over Lessons Learned from Influenza A (H1N1). During a press conference held on June 22nd, where the Minister of Health, Jose Cordova made the announcement, the Governor of Quintana Roo, Felix Gonzalez, emphasized the importance of this event for the state as it shows the reestablishment of confidence and trust in the country, specially in this state, where tourism continues to recuperate at a rapid pace.

Women’s charity swim from Cozumel to Cancun for breast cancer

On Saturday 27th June, Grupo Desafio have organized a charity swim for women who will be swimming from Cozumel to Cancun.  It has been organized to raise awareness and money for the prevention, detection and attention to breast cancer.

Breast cancer is currently the main cause of death in Quintana Roo.  This cancer is curable if it is caught on time!  Help us to raise money for a to buy a mammography machine that will allow us to detect this cancer on time and give life to the women of Quintana Roo.

Cancun played host to the NFL Legends Retreat June 19th-22nd

 

Cancun, Mexico -June 20^th, 2009 –  Some of  NFL’s greatest players such as Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Champion Drew Pearson, Everson Walls, Philadelphia Eagles, Vince Papale who is also the star of the Disney Movie Invincible and Dallas Cowboy Isaiah Stanback surprised and mingled with guests while attending the NFL Legends press conference Saturday, June 20^th in Cancun. These important visitors attended the NFL Legends Retreat hosted by Real Resorts and Best Day Travel in Cancun from June 19-22.

Quintana Roo to host World Environment Day.
The festivities for World Environment Day this June 5th will take place on a great stage: the natural landscapes of Quintana Roo. The celebration will be televised to over 180 countries around the globe and according to the Environmental and Natural Resources Secretary, Juan Elvira, Quintana Roo has already prepared the richest natural habitats of Xcaret for the occasion. The scenic beauty of Quintana Roo during World Environment Day shall serve as an incentive to become aware and conscious of the effects global warming can have on the planet.
